Grief Support

When a parent loses a child, they are faced with the reality that they may have many years ahead of them on this earth before they are reunited with their child in Heaven. As we face those seemingly interminable years, we have some choices to make:

• Are we going to abandon our faith or apply our faith?
• Are we going to allow our grief to make us bitter, or allow God to use that grief to make us better?
• How are we going to live so that our Lord and our Child are honored by our lives?

Kendra’s Legacy Foundation, Inc., has a passion for supporting parents who are experiencing the nightmare of how to deal with the loss of their loved one. In the beginning, we are in shock and that may be the way our body and mind is able to function during those first few weeks. A strong faith, family and friends play an important role the first weeks or months as well – especially a strong Faith, although having faith and spirituality does not negate ones need to mourn. “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted”.

You will find more information under “Grief Support” and “Resources” that will aid you as you begin your journey. This journey through grief may be long and difficult and is one for which there is no preparation. We all grieve in different ways. The important thing to remember is to be compassionate with yourself
